OK, I searched the forum first and didn't find any posts that directly related to my question. I travelled recently and got a *really* awesome (at least I think it's awesome..it was my 2nd day with the camera...) photo of the Capitol in Des Moines,IA. Problem is, I was shooting from a distance and have a "gorgeous" No parking sign in the shot. Is there ANY way to get rid of the sign without having a huge white mark where the sign once was? I use Paint Shop Pro X if that helps any. I tried using the background eraser tool, but that just leaves checkered marks where the background once was, and so I'm back at square one. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Also, let me know if it would be easier if I just post the shot and have someone else futz with it, or at least give you a better idea of what I mean.

You could use the clone tool in Photoshop/PSElements/PaintShopPro etc, though how complicated that would be would depend on what exactly is behind the sign.

Post a small version of the shot so we can see.

The Xtreme Makeover forum might also like the challenge !

Ok, I am the worlds worst at using clone tools and healing brushes but here is a quick 2min fix to give you an idea.

To me, almost as bad as the signs is the "leaning tower" effect. I've straightened it a bit here--at any rate, this image was too small to get much good from; it would be much more useful to have a larger version to work with.
