I was at Costco earlier and saw that they have PS Elements 4.0 on sale for $40. It's $80 and you get a $40 instant discount. Anyways I picked it up since the sale ends on Sunday and I can always return it. My guess is PSE 5.0 is on its way.
I currently have PSE 2.0 with Earthbound Light Curves plugin, so I think 4.0 is kind of a step backward. What do you all think? Is there anything in 4.0 that makes it worth the upgrade from 2.0? The lost of using curves is a biggie for me, unless there's free plugin that gives PSE4.0 curves. I'll do more research, before I open this. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. |

The ability to use the newer Adobe Camera Raw plugins would be the first thing that comes to mind.
I don't have Elements, but the ACR algorithms are pretty decent compared to competitive raw converters using PSCS2. For $40, it sounds like a pretty good deal. |

I believe, but I could be wrong, that you can get curves into PSE4. There is so much code shared between PS CS2 and PSE4 that I bet you just need to enable it.
Adjustment layers is something that is at least partially in PSE 4 (I think) and definitely is not in PSE2. I love curves, but I could absolutely not live without adjustment layers and masks. Eric |

Thanks guys. I still can't find curves plugin for PSE4.0, but I'll probably keep it. I hope it'll co-exist with PSE 2.0 in WinXP.

Curvemeister is a PS plugin, so it should work in PSE4.
http://www.curvemeister.com/ Just looked at the homepage, and yes, it does work with PSE4 |
