Appreicate feedbacks from allcamera users regarding quality and duability of fixed-lens digital cameras.

I have an Olympus E-20, just 2 years old, and discovered that a speck of dust, definitely not fungus, appeared sticking on the inside surface (nearly center) of the lens' front element. The distributor service centre had examined it and said that it isthe dust entering the camera/lens through usage, further claiming that the camera/lens is not dust-proof guaranteed, and the tiny dust will not show up in the pictures taken.

Could this speck of dust being inherent inside the camera/lens during production?

What is the likelihood of dust entry into a fixed-lens digital camera (your experiences)?

Where are the likely points of entry for dust into the lens/camera?

Your opinions and advices will be much appreciated - :?
