Default Repair for no power (polaroid)

I have a Polaroid PDC 2300Z that is dead in the water (no power with A/C adapter and no power with batteries). How can I troubleshoot my digital camera? I assume the process is similar for all digitals--and am hoping that my camera is more than a paper-weight. Anywhere else to look for help? Thanks to whoever responds.

Can you open the camera?

It could be simple as the main power switch oxidizing or worn out through use.

Try repeatly switching On/Off multiple times. Also try a tuner spray (or not recommended - WD40) around the contact area... What do you get to lose?
