One last point on image resolution, Raymond (ie how many megapixels are in the image). Don't assume that because, for example, a 2MP image looks fine when it fills the screen on your monitor it should therefore look fine when printed out at that size. The printing process is much less forgiving of low resolution images than a monitor, so what you can get away with (in terms of pixel-count)for viewing on a monitor does not apply to prints.

Thanks for that tip too although I don't tend to print my photos that often (Murphy's Law states that I will HAVE to at some time though!!!:-)). I'll certainly bear what you said in mind and will (probably) be shooting at 5Mb in the end (followingadvice that I've received from other readers) and will also (maybe) purchase an off-line storage unit - just in case!! I feel that's the "total solution" to my "problem"! Thanks again, Raymond |
