Lexmark P700 Printer with Canon Glossy Paper

After I print there is a faint horizontal line across the print.

Is this common with more expensive printers (say canon 9000)

It has more to do with the design of the printer, rather then a price point.

For instance, my old Epson 875DC was bad for having 2 or 3 small score lines running parallel to the paper. You really didn't notice this unless the light struck the paper at the right angle.

My Canon I950 doesn't seem to suffer from this. Likewise, my old HP 550, and C990 didn't show this at all either.

It depends on the paper feed mechanism more then anything.

It might be worthwhile to try out a print before you buy a given printer model.

It is worth mentioning that different papers may diminish or eliminate the problem entirely.
