Shopping search engine for certain features???

Still shopping... but thanks to all your post and Steve's great reviews... making list of desired features.

Do any of the online shops have search capabilities where you could put in features... and they would list closest match?

I know you can't get it all... but worth a try!

I'm thinking these features would be nice:
auto focus illuminator, noise reduction, AA batteries, large LCD (eyes are going), optically stablizied zoom lens, pop up flash, SLR-like body :?

Thanks for your help!
P.S. I'm trying not to ask... which camera should i buy!

Best advice - wait. The flood of new camera announcements is right around the corner with the PMA show in early Feb this year. I think you'll find what you're looking for. I can't say anymore at this point due to NDA but there's a really nice camera coming with a stabilized zoom from one of the prominent camera companies.

Mmmmm....

Yes.. Steve is the victim with his reviews who make up my mind to choose Nikon CP 4300....

Don' tell him....( I'm realy happy with "MY CHOICE"). 8)

You see Steve:

If your advice is good, then it's "our choice" if it's bad you are the victim.

Steve, Im waiting your review of the Nikon D70 to decide buying a DSLR.

Wow!

Steve... Thanks! That sure sound exciting! :D

Where should I watch to see the announcements?

Any hints on price range? I'm afraid if it's got lots of great features... it'll be out of my price range...

Thanks for all your hardwork!!!

When will you be able to name this marvel?

So to answer your original questions, here is a shopping search engine for digital cameras. One caution, some of the newest cameras don't appear:

Non Disclosure Agreement.

Basically, Canon says to Steve: "we're going to announce a Pro100 camera that will be a better, faster version of the Pro90 (with more pixels to boot) at the PMA but you cannot mention it to anyone because, if you do, we won't tell you about cool stuff in advance. Actually, why don't you sign this paper as well so we can sue your ass for breach of contract if you can't keep your mouth shut".

new cameras

saw some camera's announce on the 28th...
would these be the ones???

or maybe hope for something cheaper???

steve Jan 30, 2004 6:48 PM

I can't say anymore but it will be soon. All the new cameras will be announced between now and Feb 12, the first day of the PMA 2004 show. All major camera announcements will be on our News page and we will also have a special PMA 2004 Report page listing all cameras and other new products alphabetically as they are announced. These links are on our main menu, click the Steve's Digicams graphic in the upper left of our Forum pages to go there.

The PMA 2004 Report will be in the center of our main menu in the next couple of days - as soon as I have time to get it started...
