What's a recommended software that you can sketch simple 2D geometry with? Seems a little tough to use MS PowerPoint to keep lines centered and at specific angels.

All I'm trying to do is to print out a simple protractor similar to the one in the 2nd picture here: http://www.philohome.com/ptgui/shooting.htm

You should be able to make something via trial and error using any modern word processor, or even better yet, use a desk top publishing program such as Microsoft publisher, or if your lucky, Adobe Pagemaker.

I found your link interesting. Especially the lengths people go to capture the sky. For instance, constructing Lego robots to help them taketime lapse photography is something that I would have never thought of doing.

I love the ingenuity of people some times.

I suggest you look at some windows shareware sites. There are a number of free CAD programs that would meet your requirements. If you want to pay for a program. I would suggest EasyCad by Evolution Computing. You can call them for a product suggestion.
