To understand all the info provided above on various programs, do I understand that all of these programs will take still photos from my pc files in jpeg or Tiff format and allow me to arrange, caption, display on a cd that will play on any or most newer dvd players and can be seen on normal TV? I have burned a disc before in jpeg and played on my newest dvd player but each picture would load really slow? Or if I use PS Albums, or Roxio CD creator, I will be able to play on TV via dvd player? I have no problem on computer, but want to make it easier to do on TV. Thanks.

How do you plan to present your photos?

If digitally, you might want to try PowerPoint.

There is quite a bit you can do with it.

I know several people who take pro-quality pictures and do slide show presentations to large groups. They all basically came to the same conclusion that PowerPoint offered the most flexability and control.

Since I'm cheap and my needs are fairly simple so I use irfanview. Sure, it's an editor, but it also lets you build stand alone executables or screen saver slide shows of pictures.

It was buggy in a few versions, but I just downloaded the latest copy and the problems that I had hit are gone.

And bet of all, its free. So there is no harm or cost in trying it out.

a really good one to start with is a free download from microsoft called movie maker II, it has lots of features, for the price $0. Most of the others mentioned here will have free trial downloads so you can try them before you buy them.
