I'm one of the many wrestling with the compact camera choice.

I had ruled out the Sony DSC-T1, but based on the TIPA 2004 awards (see breaking news), it's the best compact camera.

the posts i've read here are not particularily favorable.

I can't see that the model has improved, am i missing something? As many forums, do we just tend to see complaints and not accolades? Is TIPA aka consumer reports?

as most of us that are so glad we found this site, i'm quickly descending into the '0' reply state of what to do.

I'm head of our technology department at a high school and our digital photograpy group uses olympus 5050s... they're wonderful, but for me to get any traction in documenting the life and times of my two sons i'm going to need something that fits in my purse...

The tech girl geek side of me wants the best, but as the very gracious jim says... buy something, anything to start... just get started

I've pretty much settled on the olympus stylus, any reason the review should change my mind?

I have the same problem and I think I'll go for the nikon coolpix 3700.

It is for sure not the same as a professional one but I have read a lot of good revieuws and it has a very good movie option.

It is very compact and very fast ready to shoot which are important points if you want to carry it with you and be able to catch those special moments

Anyway, good luck,
