Default Video not using all available memory on my Lumix

Hi guys,

Hope this is the correct forum. I have a Lunix with HD video capacity and an 8GB memory card. The problem is that whenever I start a video it says the max length is just over 8 minutes. When I start a new video it will shut off after 8 minutes, even though there is still more than 6GB available on the memory card.

Is this standard, or is there anyway to get around this restriction?

The maximum size for any single file is 2 GB. For full resolution HD video, that 2GB file size fills up after 8 minutes. If you want to record longer videos without the break, you need to select a lower resolution.
