Hi everyone! thank you for all of your help. I went back to the camera stores and checked out the cameras...I have decided on the dmc-tz1, but i will get it online and get a battery as well......i should be able to get the camera and an extra battery for about 260...which sits good with me

I didn't buy an extended warranty on my camera but did buy extra batteries, I did however buy the extended warranty on my laptop because they are $$ and it will cover the price of one.
I also bought the extended warranty on my PDA and it served me well(I've dropped it but I had a case so no external damage) paid $99 and it was fixed three times, the pda still costs $300. But a $99 warranty on a $200 camera is a bit much, always hold the starp when you take photos and keep it in a case when not in use and you should be fine. |

nice camera.
you could get a Kodak P850 now for $248. Or, for a little more, the Lumix FZ-30. For me, a hot shoe is important. |
