Default what resolution to use?

I`ve got a 5 MP camera (sony F717). When is it usefull to shoot in the highest resolution?
When printing on my epson stylus photo 950 (2880x1440dpi)in normal photo-size without cropping?
When sending it to a commersial photo printing service for printing?

Is there a different in quality between shooting in a lower resolution (e.g. 1024x768) and manually resize it from a large 5 MP format in phtoshop?

My logic is that I don't always know what I'm going to do with the picture. Will it be good enough to print out? Will I end up emailing it to a friend? So I always shoot the highest resolution. The only reason why I wouldn't is that i'm running out of space on my CF card and I don't have any more.

Heck, if I had more CF space, I'd shoot RAW instead.... but I don't, so I shoot the best JPG I can.

You spent a lot of money on a 5 MP camera... it's dumb to shoot in anything but the highest resolution. You can always reduce file size with software later.
