Hi,

Got Sony's A 700 just a couple of days ago and look now for a good book
about digital photography.

Any suggestions?

Gary Friedman is writing a book for the A700. I'd wait and get it:

You already have the most important book on digital photography: your camera's manual.

Beyond that, there is little reason to restrict yourself to digital unless you are looking at specific tasks like editing (the digital darkroom). f/stops, exposure, ISO, ... are the same for digital and chemical photography.
