I have a Canon Powershot A40 and use it primarily for taking pictures of wood pictures that I make. The pictures are made totally from hardwoods, use no paint or stains. The colors come from the wood, thegrains and shading of the wood. I want to enhance the quality-detail-of the pictures as much as possible with my A40. Is there any significant benefit in adding the wide and close-up lens when taking the pictures in the macro mode? The pictures are generally no larger than a foot square but some can beoutside this size.
