windows 7 download?
Did a quick search, tons of info but not anything for me :o
I have a windows 7 64 bit and an older Canon G2, Windows 7 seems not to recognize my G2 when connected or won't allow it to download goes to some sort of fix which doesn't work.
Extensive internet searches just try to sell something, so here I am.
Anyone have any tips on the window 7 system and Canon conflict?
Thanks in advance for anything.

Could it be that Canon G2 software does not like the 64 bit operating system?

Any way you can boot up in 32 bit ?

I guess that is an optiton, the G2 I have is circa 2001-02, black body, I know probably time to update.
Thanks Greg

Many Canon models are not USB Mass Storage compliant and will need Canon's software installed in order to transfer images from a USB Attached Camera.

You may want to try installing their latest ZoomBrowser software for Windows 7 (making sure to select the 64 bit option from the drop down list of Operating Systems to see the available software). That choice shows up as "Windows 7 (x64)". It probably installs other utlities and drivers needed for Windows to recognize and communicate with your camera.

If it still won't work, I'd suggest getting a Card Reader. They're very inexpensive and show up as a removable drive if you click on Computer to see your disk drives. That's the way I normally transfer photos (use a card reader versus a directly attached camera). That way, I don't have to worry about software compatiblity issues with a camera manufacturer's software, since virtually any modern desktop operating system will work with a USB attached card reader without any extra drivers or software needed.

Here are some USB attached readers that support CompactFlash cards:

Thanks Jim, appreciate the help, I think a card reader is the way to go as trying to figure out the windows 7 x64 is getting to be a PITA.
Another newegg order in the process, :)
