Default Windows weirdness: not seeing camera.

Hi everyone,

When I connect my dx4530 to my pc via usb, the windows taskbar gives me the notification that the the new hardware etc. has been installed, and when I go to the usb hub in device manager, the camera shows up there. However, Windows Explorer doesn't show the camera. I can't transfer anything, with or w/o easyshare software! Can anyone please help me?

The camera will show up as a removeable drive.

Have you got any network drives mapped?

If your hard disk is C: and your CDROM is D: and you map a network drive as E: your PC won't "see" your camera when you connect it. Map your first network drive as F: and your cam will appear as E:.

Beware, the same thing happens with card readers, but if you have a multi-card reader it may use several drive letters. My 8-in-1 uses the first 4 drive letters after my CDROM : my hard disk is C: and D:, CDROM is E:, card reader is F:, G:, H: and I:, so the first network drive I can map is J:!
