I want a Canon T1i and was going to go through WalMart with 20% Bing Cash Back, but it ended. Overstock seems great as its 15% off via Bing Cash back and no tax in NY state. Overall the T1i will cost $629, which is not too bad. Though I am worried that since a DSLR while built well, still is a sensitive piece of equipment, likely vulnerable to abuse. Overstock is not know for their great packaging and care, and I am also worried this is a left over non sold product which has been moved around alot. Any idea's?

BTW, if you dont Know what Bing cash back is, it is a discount when toy go through the bing website. so if you went to bing and created a account then searched for overstock.com. On the top of the page their may be a link that says Bing Cash under Overstock.com, then you click that link and buy the item, then later on Bing will send you the money.

I like newegg.com, too (I buy virtually all of my PC related components there, as well as memory cards). But, the OP is looking at the kit including the 18-55mm IS lens (currently $719.99 at newegg.com, and you'll see about the same price at some of the other vendors carrying it).

It looks like there is a $50 mail in rebate right now if you want to go through that hassle and meet the requirements (I'm not particularly fond of mail in rebates). You can click on it in the listing at B&H:

Personally, I'd go for the deal at newegg.com at $719 and change with free shipping, before I'd risk using some of the vendors with less than stellar reputations (to put it mildly). If you search for Canon T1i and click on the listing with the kit lens, you'll see them listed in the search results.

Yes, newegg is great. I've also had great success buying from amazon. Had a problem with a lens I bought from them and it was easy to return it and swap it for another.

I would not use bh or adorama as the op seems to live in NYS and is trying to avoid the 8.25% sales tax . And would be require to pay the NYS sales tax according the nys law for companies operating in NYS shipping within NYS.

But I must say that on cyber monday, the t1i at adorama was 689 with the 18-55 lens kit.

On build quailty, the T1i is very well made, it is still made in Japan. amazon is pretty good, newegg is pretty good also. I have order stuff from overstock, and have not had any problems. And the canon box is pretty well padded.

I ended up getting the T1I from CircuitCity.com for $699 but with $13.1 Bing Cash Back, so I saved around $91. So it will be around $608 total in the end.

It was the best price I could find. It is a Christmas present, but my mother wanted me to open it and test it before hand. I must say, everything was in good condition and in new condition. Here is the first pic I took of my Brother.
