Having my Z6 for only a few months now,
I've been happily snapping in daylight or night (with the inbuilt flash).
I took it to the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony,
I found the following strange instances.

Using the flash within the stadium made the fore-ground (peoples heads) bright,
and the background to dark to see anything.

Not using the flash, the images were clearly visible, but the shutter speed seemed
to slow down to 1 sec. Making the moving subjects blur, or with zoom my shaky hands made the image entirely blurred.

Is this common or is there anything I can do to reduce this effect?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, the Z6 doesn't seem to be a real good low light camera. It has a maximum ISO of only 320, which doesn't permit fast enough shutter speeds to avoid camera shake and/or subject motion blurring. The flash is only good out to about 18 feet, so anything beyond that is going to appear dark. A camera upgrade is about the only thing that will help.
