Default Help selecting between a Oly C700 or C740 New or Refurbish

I'm looking at digital cameras to purchase one soon. This would be my first digcam but I am not new to cameras.

I enjoy taking the pictures of birds who visit my feeders. The web cam I use is all but useless for this.

I need the ability to get close ups of the subject and be able to edit the final results.

I'm retired and spend most of my time at the commuter or getting web cam pictures of the birds who come on the window ledge to enjoy the special treats that I place there for the bolder ones.

There are over 13 different birds who visit the feeders in the middle of the yard not to count squirrels and crows.

You don't say what distance you are taking pics, but you might want to also look at the Olympus 5050 - I believe the shutter speed is a little faster than the other two Oly models you mentioned. This will help in taking pics of bird in flight and otherwise moving.

I would wait for the 750 to be released.

Default Good thought.

Most of the distance to subject would be around 20 to 25 feet. The closest would be about 5 to 7 inches. Thanks for the fast response. Good to be in a fourm that is active. My ISP news group was of no value. Again, thanks.
