You mean a self timer, or shutter lag? Regarding the self timer in Steve's review of the Ex-Z3 at http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/ex-z3.html

"Self-timer 10-second or 2-second countdown; Triple Self-timer"

If you're talking about shutter lag, most consumer cameras have it although it can be reduced on most cameras by holding down the shutter button halfway to allow the camera to focus and then pressing fully when you are ready to take the picture.

I don't know the real explenation in English (I'm from Holland),but I can explain it in not technical words.
When you make a action picture your always a fraction too late. When you push the button, half a second later the picture is taken. I want to make picture's from my tennisteam, so I want to take picture's in a split second.

Yes, that's "shutter lag"...you won't find a consumer digital that can "take picture's in a split second"...you'll have to move up to a dSLR which costs over $1000.

Unless Steve knows a consumer digital that has no shutter lag.

I think Z3 is a good choice with low lag time. It is one of the quickest camera in this regard. You can check various cameras timing tests at dpreview.com reviews, including the Z3
