Default How a digital camera works...

Interesting reading if one ignores all the advertising hype. 8)

Take particular note on how AF/AE are performed as well as those gamma curves... Shall we get ready for thoses 8 Mpixels camera? :lol: :lol: :lol:

I wonder how much of that is hypeware, esp with comments like, " ... delivers the highest quality images which are free of noise and artifacts." Any real system is going to have some noise, and any JPEG is going to have artifacts, albeit small. The limit of USB 1.1 is another warning flag for me.

Like I said ignore the hype. I don't know about their latest offering, but they had some track record with their 1st generation chips:

Manufacturers go for USB1.1 mainly for cost since 2.0 requires a larger part of the die which can be used for more cost effective functions... but then most people would opt for a faster external reader and free up their camera anyway! :P
