Any recommendations for hard cases?

I was looking at Pelican, but I'm not sure what size to get:

A Canon S3 is roughly 4.5"L x 3.5"D x 3"H, but I'll probably purchase a Lensmate adapter so add another 1.7" to the D.

TIA.

Do you want a case for just the camera, or will you be putting anything else in the case - maybe a few memory cards and the charger?

Probably just the camera (I have a 2gb card); maybe another set of batteries/charger if I went with the 1200. I'm currently using Sanyo Eneloops and the charger is pretty slim.

I'm just not sure how much padding I need on the top and bottom of the camera. The 1200 case is a little over 4" tall on the inside which would give 1/2" of pad on the top and bottom if it is split evenly.

I would suggest you look at the lowepro line of camera bags. They are well padded and have room for your charger, memory cards and battery. The nova series in particular are well padded bags..... not hard shell. I find the nova AW1 holds my Fuji S5200, battery charger, 5 sets of AAs, 6 memory cards, lens cleaning cloth, a small memo book and 3 pens very well. I carry the bag in the trunk of my car and never had an issue with the camera yet (or with the two pervious cameras I stored in that case.
