I havean oldMinolta A200 to use when at home and bought the Canon for traveling and was wondering IF I decide to buy some filters, IF I buy 58mm and the adapter for the Canon, will I be able to "share" the filters between the two cameras? I want a UV, Polarizing (maybe the circular) and a ND for trip to Hawaii. Will only take the Canon to HI though but would hate to eventually buy two sets of filters. Oh and recently bought the Canon A710 IS for a purse camera.

Thanks for any help.

The Minolta A200 shows a 49mm filter size. I don't see a filter size for the Canon S3 IS however you do mention 58mm and an adapter.

You may be able to get a 49mm to 58mm step ring to use the 58mm filters on the Minolta however I would carefully investigate if having the filter on will interfere with the movement of either lens. You don't want the lens retracting with the filter on then jamming.

Thanks Bob. I hadn't looked at the Minolta filter issue since last May so my memory on mm sizes had become a little foggy.
