When you buy a new camera you get the bundled software, but is it worth using? I have an old Canon G5 but a new pc with Photoshop. Of course it works well and I have become familiar with it. But say i was to change my camera to the G7 - should I revert back and use the Canon software or stick with Photoshop? :?

I agree, for editing stick with PhotoShop. However, the manufacturer's EXIF reader might be better than most third party software - perhaps giving things like focus distance.

I would agree with the opinions given above.

Most camera makes are not software designers as well... I've never been impressed with the design of the included software. I design software for a living and its clear the ones that I have seen were not done by people who really understood usability and interface standards.

I'd stick with PS. It really is a great program (it has *too much* functionality, but that is a different issue.)

I have gotten 3 digital cameras in my life and found the bundle software to be useless to me. I use Phtoshop CS2 but any version of Photoshop Elemets that you own on your computer will do just about anything you need to do.
