Yes i had a UV (0) filter on just to protect the lens as i only bought this lens 2 days ago Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG APO HSM and have ordered the Polarizer which should be here Tomorrow or Tuesday all being well...

Do you think i could do with a different lens on

These are what i have:

Tamron 200-500

Sigma 17-70

Sigma 10-20

Sigma 105mm plus the formentioned 70-200 and i've also ordered the Sigma 1.4x TC for the 70-200

Thanks for all your help its much appreciated!!

OK, yes, I see the lens flare. But since the lens is pointed down, I don't think it's a result of DIRECT sunlight. I think it is likely that the flare is the result of reflected sunlight.

That knd of thing is going to pop up from time to time when the subject is between you and a major light source. A lens hood is your first line of defense against lens flare, and a polarizing filter might subdue glare which might be the source of this flare.

Nice shot, but maybe you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Tell everyone the beige spot is a scar from a hunting accident. :-)
