Default 2800Z UK v US Prices

What is the best price available for the 2800Z in the UK?

Best i've seen is 275 equivalent to ($430 USD)

It really cheeses me off that in the US the camera can be picked up for
just $275 USD (175).

Why do companies give punters like us in the UK such a raw
deal on prices??

A full package of camera, batteries & charger, 128MB card, case
and USB reader ends up nearly 400... ($620 USD).

I bet you can pick that lot up for a great deal less over the pond!!

Thanks for reading my rant.. :-)

Rip off Britain they say. Same with cars and virtually anything else you can think of.

Probably because were daft enough to pay.

Some time ago I was quoted 700 for a Burris rifle scope. In the US they were less than $500. By the time I had paid to import it, including VAT, import duty 3% and postage I paid about 420; a massive saving.

Part of the reason too, could simply be mass-selling here. There are close to 300 million people in the U.S., more stores selling more items, etc. So, overall costs go down. Let's face it too - we have the worst spending habits here... U.S. citizens have on average, little in their saving's accounts compared to those in other countries. We're trained to spend-spend-spend from childhood. Is it any wonder we get better prices then, to urge us to buy-buy-buy?
