Default HELP FLASH PROBLEM

hey! i am new here. i need help. i just bought a Dimage 7i lately. i still cant figure out how to take some shots during night time / darker enviroment like concert hall on the streets or something similiar. i tried once taking pics during my friend's graduation, all the pics screwed up they look "shaky" /blur because i used built it flash (the one with plus and minus thing). so i tried pop up flash the people in the pics look so "white" , and the back ground is sooo dark.

whenever i use pop up flash during night time. The flash is extremely bright, the pics became over exposed (i think that's what u called). if i use built in flash... the pics become so "shaky/ blur . this is sooo sad! cuz i screwed up my friend's graduation!!

I know you don't want to hear this now, but you should always practice before an important event so you know your camera's limitations. Most likely the blurred pictures were because you went below 1/30th of a second, or you had the zoom extended too far for the amount of light that was available. Suggest you look at the Exif info of your pictures to see what settings you used.

None of the built-in flashes on these cameras will go much farther than 7 to 10 feet, less if you have zoomed out to telephoto. This is why people use a larger external flash, more power and coverage range.
