Default CF Card and battery in same bag

Can anyone help please...

Can you store your CF card next to your spare battery in the same bag/pocket without damaging the CF card and any photos taken?? In other words erase the data in anyway caused by the battery???

Just wondering as Canon have not responded to my emials when i registered my new digital IXUS S400...
thanks heaps

Yes, I always carry my batteries and extra cards in the same patch.

You can safely hold a battery near a card. However be carefull with bending (yes that is possible) and or magnetic forces (any tests on that one?).

the EMF from a battery is so so weak that it barely registers on any magnetometer. if that was even an issue for a CF card think of such things as the airport xray or the wands they use to annoy us with. again this is not an issue.
