Is anyone else having problems posting to the forum?

Whenever I type a message and click send, the browser just stalls at contacting the website. I never get redirected to my post. However, if I back out and reload the forum, my post shows up.

Sorry for posting the question here, but there is no forum for asking forum-related questions.

OS: Mac OS X 10.4.9
Browser: Safari

I received 6 email messages supposedly from Steve's Forums which all went to my trash basket. Wanted me to click on some link!

Did these really come from Steve's?
Thanks.

No...the site doesn't send email on it's own. Although Bots may be doing so, the only emails I've ever received are from Steve or other Mods.

I think this is the type of messagepicsgalore received. I've included the message with the SMTP header information (overwriting my own address.) The source IP, 216.54.220.138 shows to belong to Ozona On-Line, Miami, FL.

We are currently working on the posting issue and hope to have it resolved very soon. The Forums were moved to new servers recently and we are working on load balancing.

In regard to emails being sent from the Forums. When you first become a member, or update your member info, you will get anemail from us with a link. The only other auto generated email we send is when you check the box which reads "Notify me by e-mail when replies are posted to this topic" found at the bottom of the posting.

Our goall is to have the Fourms running faster than ever and have all the quirks fixed. We will be adding an email or new Topic so our members can get immediate responses to questions, comments, or concerns as they relate to the operation of the Forums.

Thanks for hanging in there with us.

The confirmation e-mails appear to be working correctly from what I can see.

If you don't want them, you can change the forum behavior. For example, if I go to Watched Forums, I can get new e-mails for each post, a daily digest of posts and more.

I can also set my Preferences to send me a new e-mail when new posts are made to threads I've participated in, when I get new PMs and more.

The default might be on. Here's a direct link to edit your preferences (or you can get to them by pressing the My Account button and going to your preferences tab):

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo..._preferences=1

This is not the issue the Original Poster was referring to. There is still a problem with the browser window or tab you're posting from not being aware when a post has completed. So, you may get an hourglass after making a post, rather than being returned to the thread you're posting in.

You can see that the post has been made if you open another browser window or tab (even when the original tab or window the post was being made from still shows an hourglass). This is an intermittent issue and is under investigation.

I recognize that which is why is was specific in identifying the poster I to whom I was replying.

Thank for the instructions for changing the default notification setting although I'm happy with the defaults.

What about logging in from different computers?

I have tried at least to log-on from two other computers with different IP addresses and the site still asked me to logged on again (i.e. can not post) - Clearing the cookies do not seems to help

It looks like the user_ID and password are accepted from theses computers, but the site still think the user is not logged in (i.e. typing a wrong password will take me to an invalid user/password screen)
