If you're on a limited budget, and must have a 28mm wide angle setting, you may also want to consider a factory reconditioned Coolpix 5000.

Nikon sells them direct (via their NikonMall web site) for $529.99

P.S. I once purchased a Nikon Coolpix 950 this way (reconditioned from Nikon). It arrived in perfect condition (I was unable to distinquish it from a brand new camera, even with a very thorough inspection), saving me a lot of money over a brand new camera.
