Default Which camera shop is best service and reasonable price ?

I am going to study at Toronto. I am from Singapore. In Singapore there are many camera shop with reliable price and good service like http://www.cathayphoto.com.sg http://www.bargaincity.com.sg.
In Toronto is there any camera shop with reliable price and good service? Does anybody know that if I buy camera from online store, do I need to pay GST? Will the custom charge tax on camera if I order online?
Thanks for your help.

I guess it falls to me.

There are some big stores on Queen St. E like Henrys http://www.henrys.ca and Vistek http://www.vistek.ca but you can find some stores that sell cheaper along Yonge St. between College and Queen (although some may sell grey market products).

One of the big issues is warranty if you buy another country when you return back to your home country...if you buy in Canada most of the cameras are only warrantied by the Canadian or US division of the camera company.

As for taxes, you can probably apply for a GST rebate (you'll have to pay it at the counter, but you can get most back). I'm not an expert about this, but you should get all the info you need at http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/visitors/ There is no rebate for the PST (Provincial Sales Tax)...PST=8%, GST=7%.

If you are ording from the States while living in Canada you will have to pay duty, I can't say if you can get that back. Suggest you talk directly to Customs when in Toronto...their address is 1 Front St. W. or look through the Customs website at http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/

give this thread over in the Nikon group a try, it went over a lot of the toronto stores and their links.

If you go in person, some of the stores are willing to haggle or make better deals
