this is an ongoing thing? 1

1, when I go into a topic I made and it is called hybrids, reviews, brief descriptions , in there I have a few links to al my reviews, so when a person can locate one they can click on it?

2. when I go in there, and click on it, it leads me to that page all is working, able to read etc, but on the upper corner it tells me I need to log in, as well as i am not allowed to edit like i am a guest?

my other question was deleted and not upset guess it was not suited to have placed this there , but all alright?

this has been going on since wow 1.3 -1.5 never brought it up, so I must go back to searching old school?

I see your links to places like youtube, etc. But, if they are not maintaining your login info when you get to them from here, there is nothing that I'm aware of that we could do about it.

They may have something that doesn't allow you to get there from another site and still keep the login info. They're probably keeping some of that info in a cookie and require a new login if they see you coming from somewhere else (just speculation).

But, there is nothing special about how the links are embedded (it's just a url).

OK.

Here's the deal.

The forums changed to a new domain name.

The old forums were here:

http://www.stevesforums.com

They are now here:

http://forums.steves-digicams.com

They were moved to a subdomain of the main site. So, the old links are not valid anymore.

You can edit the posts if desired and point to the correct place to get around that issue.

For example, if this was the old link:

http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=92

It would need to be this:

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=92

You'd need to replace the http://www.stevesforums.com with http://forums.steves-digicams.com (leaving the rest as it was).

Note that you can't edit the links directly in the WowBB editor using most browsers (because of the editor design, you'll only change what members see after code tags are applied, not the actual link within those code tags).

So, unless you use an unsupported browser like Konquerer (something other than IE or Firefox), your best bet is probably to copy the links into something like Notepad (since it won't support the code tags and you'll get plain text), then edit them and paste them back into your posts.

We do not have a good solution for handling this issue yet (other than manually editing any posts that have references to the old links).
