Default Need advice on buying 2mp point and shoot

Hey all.

I'm helping my sister buy a camera for her twin's birthday. Niether knows much about cameras, computers, or anything like that. What she needs is a 2mp point and shoot that's really user friendly. A 3x optical zoom is a must. It also needs to be below $200, preferably below $150.

She will be mostly taking photos of her two little girls, and their 7 cousins. Any advanced feature will likely go unused, so it needn't have many frills.

One camera I saw doing a quick look around is the Fuji finepix 2650. Both me and my sister noticed that the colors looked a little blueish, anyone know anything about that?

I'm leery of Kodak, though I have heard they make quite a few point and shoots that are pretty easy to operate. Any good 2mp Kodaks I should consider?

I'm even more leery of HP, but I thought I'd throw them into the hat.

The camera manufacturors I really like don't seem to offer what she's looking for, them being Canon, and Olympus. Or is there a Canon/Olypmus camera that I don't know about?

Thanks for your help,
Dan O.

With all due respect ... you need $300.

The Kodak's are VERY easy to use... .try to get models about to be replaced .. .usually best value.

I bought my Canon A70 for $300. It is 3.2mp with full manual features. You can not honestly tell me that a 2mp point and shoot will cost that much, with all due respect.

Maybe I forgot to mention this, I need it to be between $150 and $200 US dollars. I do realize that foriegn counties often get electronics way overpriced when compared to the US.

You could get the A60. It can be found for around $200 or less by shopping around. 2MP, 3x zoom, and it gets good reviews. Not the smallest cameras, but I think it takes good pics.

I had thought of the A60, but I haven't been able to find it for less than $200. Got any links?

Another option is the A40. The A40, however, sells for the same prices I've been seeing the A60. This makes absolutely no sense! Why would a camera that is a year and a half old cost as much as it's ugraded model released just 6 months ago?

If it wasn't for the obscene price of the A40, I'd tell her to buy that.

Well, you could buy it from http://BeachCamera.com for $198 shipped. A better bet might be Dell after applying some coupons, read this: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthr...hreadid=1425#1 . If you buy 2, they're just $190 each. One is about $210. I usually check http://pricescan.com too, they have prices many places. Or try http://Froogle.com .
