Default new to this forum, and need advice on which camera....

nikon 5400, canon g3, or sony dsc-v1? want to use mainly for macro, but also want good manual controls and night capabilities. any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance j.h.

Seems like an open door; Nikon is great with macro and has bulb up to 10 minutes.

I use a Canon G2 and can't fault it. I use it for taking plant pictures, and most are close ups. I shoot in RAW mode, and the prints are fantastic - providing my pictures are of the best.

I have the same post on this fourm . it looks like i am going toward the sony v1 . i like the 5700 cool pix but some of the feviews on the purple stuff?. So far the best price on the vi from a reputale company is 599. no ship and no tax at newegg.com
