Default Our real faces in our avatars

I notice on other web boards, people don't use their pictures for avatars. I wonder if photographers like to pose and have their pictures of themselves seen too.

I only like being *behind* the camera!

I have a portrait made with PhotoMontage, but the size of the avatar would make the little pictures look like noise: http://www.pbase.com/image/8557654/medium

Yeah, I've noticed how most people here have their faces as avatars (if anything). I'm one of the few to have something else. On other forums I visit, virtually nobody has his/her face as an avatar.

I've got myself on my avatar, and I suppose if I were to belong to forums other than photography I would still use my photo as my avatar.

Actually, you got a big red X for your avatar!

Yahoo no longer allows direct linking to files stored on their sites.

You probably see your avatar because it's cached on your hard drive.

Darn Yahoo! Now I've gotta go set it up at Photoshare.co.nz.

Thanks for the heads up!

I don't take photos with myself in them. People are always curious as to why. I love taking pictures of other people, but myself am photo shy

As for avatars, I usually use a photo of mine and change them regularly. Though on here I don't seem to have bothered with an avatar yet

This is the only board that I use my pic as an avatar. I guess this forum seems more civilized than others. Before photography, I was a total computer geek (constantly tweaking my computer) and, well, I guess I wouldn't even think of posting my pic on those forums. People here are more mature and usually offer very constructive criticism. Out of all the boards I belong to, I really enjoy coming here to look at some very fine photography taken by some very talented photographers
