Default 3MP Camera

*holds breath*

I have stopped my photography business, atleast until the financial state picks up, which at this rate is 2+ years away at best. I am selling everything but 1 256MB CF. That being said I have an extremely strict budget of no more than $600.00 Canadian to put into a 2 - 3MP camera.

I know the highend market fairly well but, need a hand if possible with the range I outlined below;

Manual controls however, they are not 100% nessesary. When I make prints most will be 5x7 and the odd 8x10. Any other suggestions to the cameras below?

A60 by itself = $419.00 including tax.
or
A60 with the 24mm lens/adapter = $600.00 including tax.
(anyone know of example photos or opinions on the 24mm adaptor?)

A70 by itself = $545.00 including tax.

Thanks in advance

Both good cameras right? I mean I think pretty much identical except for the 1mp difference and, I believe the A70 has a larger movie. (Not really important, I know) It all depends on what you think you need. To me, the 3mp would be nice just because, I could still crop it and get a decent 5X7. That's the reson I bought mine and, if the A80 were out, I probably would have gone that route.

Just my opinion though.

RSD,

Yes, $546 Canadian with tax for a Canon A70...and I wouldn't care how cheap Future Shop had them as I refuse to shop there Same thing goes for online shopping, there is nothing the net has that I can't get locally.

London Drugs is the same price as Kerrisdale Cameras: $479 no tax included.

Just checked FS website and they are more expensive anyway, $399/499 for the A60/A70 respectively, no taxes included.

Kerrisdale Cameras is the only place I buy my camera/equipment as their pricing is the same as everyone elses and if you need help or have questions they have more knowledge than FS or LD put together 8)

Hey man,

Those prices you quoted are way too high for a Canon A60 or A70. The Canon A70 now retails for $449.99 at Blacks (Where I work). You could get yourself a starter kit (Coupon pack + warantee) for $551 or so... Canadian!

E-mail me about it, we can talk.
