I have a Aiptek Go-HD mini camcorder, and I can't seem to find firmware for it anywhere! I've emailed Aiptek, and they obviously don't care.

I've checked the firmware and it states-

Full: V1.100
HW: X5
Time:May 4 2007
Nand: HY27US08561M
Bin: hydam_z5x.bin

I believe this is a pretty common cam, but I was hoping that a newer firmware would fix the audio a little bit on it. If anyone has any suggestions or possibly some links for firmware downloads, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure you will beat Aiptek to it!! Thanks again!

Maybe there is no firmware update for it. Do you know for sure that there is?

Firmware updates are not a given, and if you can't find it, (especially on Aiptek site) then likely there is no firmware update. There may be hacks available, but if they are not released by the company, you are on your own should any problems arise.

I guess I never realized that. I also read in another forum that someone was using 1.15 firmware for their Go-HD. Not sure if it was hacked or something, but they said that it helped with the sound issue that these cameras have. I believe that my cell phones' sound recorder makes better audio!

Hi to all.

I just got my Go Hd today, found this forum, and checked FW version.

Full- 1.201

HW x5

Time Aug 8, 2007 16:15:52

Nand HY27US08561M

Bin hydam_z5x2.bin

hope I wrote it all down right.

If this is an upgrade, i can tell you the sound is still WAY low...

otherwise, have been having fun with 20 inch LCD on composite input.

can surely see a need for a tripod with this little gem.

We're waiting for our 4gb Transcend. Funny thing, it seems to record HD fine with cheap, slow SD card. Want a laugh? 128mb = 3 1/2 +/- minutes of HD.

Also put in the son's 1gb Sandisk extreme II from his D50 and haven't had any probs either...
