You (just because you mentioned comparing the D1 to the D300, commenting on the D1's larger photosite size). Comparing an older model to a much newer model is not a good way to judge the benefits of a larger photosite size, because of other advancements in technology (sensor design, improvements in supporting components, and more). The D300 is a much newer camera.

I am commenting the text only. No body expects camera will produce same pics with ISO 100 and 1600, older or newer. Some details in the text are definitely wrong.

I was just pointing out the advancements in technology in other areas, in case you weren't taking that into consideration.
