Default A Sony

I saw a Sony the other day called the DSC-U20...Steve has the review here:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_.../sony_u20.html

It was the size of a small cell phone (about a 2/3 the size of a pack of cigcrettes)...if you can manage the buttons. Personally, if I were getting a small carry around digital, I would look into the Olympus Stylus line. I have a 35mm Stylus Epic (non-zoom version) for 5yrs & I've taken many images with it that rivaled my Nikon N80. Being weather resistant helps too...

Casio EXz3, Canon SD100, Canon S400, Nikon CoolPix3100, Panasonic LC33 & LC43, Minolta Dimage XT32 - you didn't state your price range but these are models which have cought my eye in the 3mp $300 area except S400 & LC43 which are 4mp I believe; all are compact and have pretty good lens systems.

The Sony U20 is an excellent small camera. It uses Sony's highly respected Super-HAD CCD sensor technology and a not too shabby f2.8 multi coated glass lens.

I'm extremely pleased with its performance. Steves review matches my experience to a tee. His sample photos are very representative of the camera's capabilities when there is adequate lighting, just don't expect miracles from this camera (or other sub miniature cameras) in low light conditions.

The U20 has been superceded by the U30 which for all paractical purpooses is the same camera only cheaper!!
