i have a few pics i got off the net, that are in jpeg format, and resolution is 558x768 with 300dpi is what windows properties states.

my question is, will an 8x10 of this come out good at walmart/black's etc..?

or should i not even bother trying.. thanks in advance.

The 300 dpi that Windows reports doesn't actually mean anything.

You can try, but a 558x768 image at 8x10 will show a lot of pixelation. It will print out at about 70 dots per inch, which is usually on the wrong side of what is considered to be acceptable

Actually, you shouldn't use them at all with the photographer's permission

I'd contact the photographer, let him or her know that you like the photos and would like the print them for personal use. They may send you a full resolution copy to use. ;-)
