Hello justdoit,

I also own a c750 and have a tcon17 for it. I find when shooting moving subjects setting the cameras dial to the guy running works great for almost all situations and tends to capture good, still photos. I would give that one a try.

Well, imho I would just switch to Manual (in A/S/M) and use the f/8.0 and a high fraction of second, like 1/500 or 1/650 to 1/1000 in strong sunlight. Also use ISO 200 (which helps for less exposure).
This I do when using full 10x zoom, but I don't have a tcon17 lens for my C740.

Guys, having tcon17 mounted on the camera, does it mean you get 17x of zoom instead of 10x?
Is there any 'negative side' of using tcon17 lens in photo quality?

cheers

The TCON-17 does not give you a 17x zoom, just an aprox. 64 to 640 mm (in 35 mm terms) zoom range. It's still a 10x zoom. Is all that range usable? There is quite a bit of vignetting at full wide angle and it gradually disappears through about the first 40 to 50 per cent of the zoom range (maybe a little further before the vignetting totally disappears.)

From what I've read and seen in posted photos, quality of the TCON is excellent. I've got it's predecessor, B-300, and have found it to be a very bright lens. Check here at Steve's under "add-on lenses" and "Olympus" for additional comments. Also, www.b-300.com has some comparison pictures (B-300, TCON-17, and a Sony lens.)

DriniS, I hate to differ with plg3, but the TCON1.7 does convert a 10x optical zoom to 17x at full telephoto. I just answered this in another post: http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...798&highlight=. For your camera, 38-646 is a 17 fold magnification. If you have any doubts, please compare the image heights of the trailer in the wide angle vs full telephoto with TCON17 sample photos in the above referenced post. You will also find in that post answers to your questions about the limitations of the lens, also noted by plg3 above.
