Default Oly C-750, Fuji S5000, or ???

Hey all, here's another "what digicam should I buy" type question.

A while ago, I was pondering purchasing a digicam but it seemed that I just couldn't find something that would be good for shooting sports (football and kickboxing), cars (usually at car shows), and "normal" everyday shots that matched my 4+ MP, x4+ optical zoom, and sub-$1k criteria.

Then the C-750 came out and today I saw the S500 in a CompUSA ad (well known for their digicams....cough, cough). The C-750 is the forerunner but I don't like that it doesn't have an AF assist lamp and the LCD screen doesn't tilt/swivel like it does on other digicams (like the Nikon 5700 or Canon G-series).

Both of the aforementioned cameras seem like they would be applicable to my 'needs' but I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a digicam I might be leaving out. Any input would be appreciated.

Check out the breaking news link on Steve's home page and read about the new Panasonic 12x ultra zoom camera. May confuse you even more. Of the two cameras I would choose the Olympus C750.
