I bought a new camera and I'm not really sure it's any better than my old one. I'm just a newbie and don't know much about cameras. These pictures were taken in the auto mode. Which set of pictures do you thing look better? I'll post what cameras they are after there's some responses.

To my eye the colour temp/white balance on the old one looks better, however to be able to tell anything else the photos are too small. Your flower shot is out of focus on the new one.

Most colour issues can be corrected in either camera or on PC.

Thanks for the response. I had trouble getting the new camera to focus on the flower. I must have been to close.

I'm not sure how to post high resolution pics due to their size?

Rather than posting the full shot, you can just take a small section at full size so say 700x500 pixels.

As for the close focus that can certainly be a problem with some cameras.

Well, the new camera is a Panasonic FS3, so it is an inexpensive camera. The old is a Fugi F601, which was a good camera years ago. I think I'm going to exchange the FS3 for a better camera, as I don't think it takes better pics than my old Fugi.

I may try a Panasonic TZ5, but not positive. Looking for a camera that takes great pics in the auto mode.

I have a TZ5, it is the latest camera in my collection (Canon 1D mkIII, Canon 5D and Canon 30D) and I have it so I don't need to lug the dSLRs around with me all of the time. As you can tell I'm used to high quality shots and although the TZ5 doesn't come close it is very acceptable to what I want from an easily portable camera.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I think you will be pretty happy with the results and as for controls pretty much you work it in auto all the time so nothing to worry about there.
