i just want to know what HDR means? is this a camera dependentfeature or done through PS?

my current DSLR is an EOS 450D, is it possible to have an HDR output wid my cam? thanks!

HDR is usually a software function and stands for "high dynamic range". Maybe there are cameras that will do HDR in-camera, but it isn't common. You could probably do it best on a computer screen in any case.

HDR involves taking several shots of the same scene – preferably on a tripod. The shots are taken at different exposure settings. HDR software lets you combine them in such a way that you increase the dynamic range. So you take the shadow detail from the over exposed shot and the highlights from the slightly under exposed one to simplify the idea.

Like anything automatic you do better fine tuning the output. The software allows that. You can also do in manually with layers in an image editor, but it is easier to have software with HDR capability.
