No. I never said either of those things.

I will say that facemasks are tools that bank robbers might use.
I will also say that cameras are tools that pedophiles might use.

But I never said those things before now.

So, if the police can swing by to see what's going on when someone is wearing a ski mask in front of a bank, can they swing by to see what's going on when someone is taking a photo of a young girl, given that both activities could be suspicious?

The people losing control of rights to be and others going to far into others reasons of...... when they are innocent of ! I had issues of POLICE in my life and I was innocent of .... and others got away with when they were guilty of...the many things they will lie about....and where I was being made to be in denial of when I have a right to have a few when I feel like it but I don't go losing control over my self cause I did have few drinks of beer or a drink of hard stuff.... so like the father his thinking wow I have a chance to stop them before any thing happens but yet what is going to happen I mean wow that little girl may want to be a model one day and whopps where is the shots from her younger days that could of took her there before her time of want which is a in sense the time of a possiable greed... cause usually then is when they want casue of need to have while in the time being now she would best benift fromthe experance of being there. I was once a model on the back of the how to rear you children at age 0-1 2-3 etc.. cant seem to find the booklets that use to be picked up in the local medical clinics doctor offices any more why ? I do not know ... other wise reason why I was.... a very cute little girl and I was born with a medical need ...

No wonder you were under surveillance back in the 60's!

Who did you work for back then - The Weathermen, YIP, SDS, Black Panthers?

I have my rights...I have my rights...wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

“Pedophilia is a disease. It's been in this world for time immermorial. And the kiddie porn industry has been in existance for many millennium. The relative handful of those who actually harm children, should of course be removed from society.”

“Those who kidnap, rape and murder children are more than just pedophiles - They are raving psychophatic sociopaths - And they too have been around since humans walked the earth.”

“What does this have to do with photography and photographs?”

So you’re saying that taking pictures of naked children and posting them on the internet is an acceptable practice? You have a right to do that?

“I've once again started to take pictures of kids, and I see no reason to recieve phone calls from the police over them.”

When can we expect to see some pictures of naked children posted by you to this forum? I want to see how long it takes for the police to come knocking on your door. Maybe you can convince them you have the right to do that.

“I, as I've made clear over the course of this thread, see nothing wrong OR supicious with taking pictures of children OR adults, OR grandmas OR dogs.”

Just so long as they’re not naked and all in the same picture, and not...

I'm sorry that you feel that holding a civil conversation is a violation of your rights. If it makes you feel better, as well as being a card carrying member of the ACLU, I am also a card carrying member of the NRA.

Sorry, no, that was your analogy. A man wearing a full face mask near a bank, possily in the "getaway" car.

Unless you're robbing a bank with the deliberate aim of going to jail, then a disguise, or a mask is a mandatory accesseory. Whereas a pedophile needs only the Sears Catalogue, to get off. Moreover there is no reason to wear a face mask, in a car, while everyone who takes pictures uses a camera.

Actually, no. That was JohnG:

SharpShotGal, I understand and sympathize with you about your distrust of law enforcement. I've had some run-ins myself. And my County Police have been investigated by the FBI for at least the past 10 years. And my County's SWAT Team broke into the home of a local mayor, held him, his wife, and her mother at gunpoint, and shot their two Labrador Retrievers as they were running away. [See The Day the SWAT Team Came Crashing Through My Door] And for no good reason. And with no repercussions.

But if I'm ever run over and the car doesn't stop, I'm going to rely on my County's Police to use all their available resources to find the driver.

And just to be clear, I will also say that cameras are tools that bank robbers might use, and that facemasks are tools the pedophiles might use.

So what?

John G, might have made it, but you've run with it...

So what?
We are discussing the problems that Photographers face, the rights of photographers and the public, and the incredible paranoia that leads people to compare anyone with a camera to a pedophile.

If you want to talk about statistical blips, things that have to be given as .001 possibilities, we should then launch into the dangers of lightning to the public, and perhaps people with cameras are responsible.

I have said, and will say, that this fear is far more dangerous to children then the actual pedophiles. It has dramtically changed the way adults interact with children, it has Not reduced the incidence of pedophilia. It is a lose/lose proposition.

The number of pedophiles has remained a constant, although we are, with our present policies, trying to convince disturbed individuals that pedophila is a normal lust shared by everyone. We have criminalised the bodies of children and protected normal healthy adults from "converting" to pedophiles. This lunacy is spreading to the point of real harm to society, as well as photographers in particular.
