Default USA Airline Travel Question

I will be traveling the first week of March. I am trying to understand the new USA Airport Security rules as it appears to carry-on items... i.e. camera batteries. I ready one place you can only have two total and another place said nothing about a limit. Then the third place said 2 lithium batteries total. Is that 2 loose and 1 in the camera etc.

I called my airlines 1-800 number and sent an e-mail and they could not say. They referred me to the TSA website that didn't really answer the question.

I am planning to travel with my Sony D-SLR body and want to carry all 3 of my batteries for it with me if I can. I am not checking in any luggage. So their is no change to stash the extra battery (batteries) in it. I guess I could always take just one in the camera and a spare and pack a charger.........

Anything else I need to know. Have not traveled since late 2008 by airplane.

You could FedEx the extra batteries, etc., to your destination.

Well on a recent flight I took flying to europe and back, I had no problems with having 1 battery in the camera, 2 batteries in my battery grip. This was earlier this month. Seem like a grip is a good way of traveling with extra batteries in carry on. Can not have lithium in check luggage. I also had loose recharge AA in a battery pouch. All this was in my carry on luggage.

It is very confusing, the TSA does not know what one airport is doing compare to another airport. Here is some info.
