Default Shooting color negatives with digital camera

Has anyone ever tried putting color negatives in a slide viewer and shooting it with a digital camera? Is there a way to overcome the orange mask? I have thousands of 35mm color film strips I want to digitize and figure it would be the fastest way to copy would be by shooting with camera.

Bynx: you will severely lose quality. Better buy a cheap 35mm. film scanner.

Better yet, Bynx-

Have it done by an outside contractor. It will be completed in less time, and less cost because no equipment need be purchased, in better fidelity and resolution because the contractor does this for a living.

I studied it carefully for over a month, and that was my conclusion.
