Thank's Gary, I'm also looking for good photography books and took a look at Scott Kelby yesterday - I think I have to buy them all (or at least 1&2) immediately

I've had good luck finding these kind of books at Half Priced Books or other used/discount bookstores. New, these cost an arm and a leg. Used (or discounted) you can find them for very reasonable prices. I just look for whatever floats my boat at that time.

Another thing I like are the Life Magazine "special editions" that are collections of their photographs over a long period of time. Usually you can find these with the magazines, but they're more like a paperback book, although large format. They cost around $10-12 and usually focus on a particular theme, such as nature, or photojournalism.
