The newest snow leopard 10.6.2

opps I meant I will go back to aperture 2 if the update does not come out when the trail ends for me.

I use

Photoscape - very easy to use but probably not as sophisticated as other packages.

Gimp - I haven't even scratched the surface of this one yet, but it look as if it may have lots for control and features.

Best of both are free

Ok. Thats odd then. Aperture 3 is very slow for me, but it never crashes. Maybe you have a slower Mac? I have a unibody Macbook Pro 15", so the 9600m GT is nice to have for photo programs like aperture.

And also, you meant trial, not trail.

yup, not paying attention to my typing.

I have the 13" macbook pro. And yes it is very slow also. After any edit or import/export. It takes a while to process.

Photoshop, PS Elements, StereoPhoto Maker for 3D stuff, Canon Photostitch for panoramas, Fuji Hyperutility for RAW conversions.

Virtual Studio is free and has an amazing number of photo adjustment features including filters, noise and frames.
